Tim Outhit to Run for
HRM Councillor for Bedford

(Bedford, NS) Tim Outhit announced today that he will be a candidate in the upcoming by-election for District 21 in Bedford.
Outhit is the president and CEO of novaknowledge and has a passion for all organizations focused on growing our economy, improving culture, or combating our demographic challenges. He is also a strong supporter of the objectives of groups such as the Greater Halifax Partnership, Halifax Chamber of Commerce, FUSION Halifax, Halifax Student Alliance, Metropolitan Immigrant Settlement Association (MISA), Envision Halifax, and JCI.
“On a daily basis, I hear residents of Bedford and HRM asking where is the rink, the ferry, the bypass, the vision, and the leaders?” Outhit stated. He believes there are many good things happening in our community and they are being lead by many fine organizations. “We must celebrate and assist these organizations in order to achieve further success. However, there is much to be done in regard to smart social & economic growth and development, recreation & culture, transportation, and proactive policing. I have proven leadership and I want to work for the residents of Bedford and HRM. My commitment is to provide leadership and creative action now”, says Outhit.
An active community leader, Outhit is president of the Ridgevale Homeowners Association in Bedford, a member of the Bedford Volunteer Awards Committee, Sigma Chi, the Board of Governors of All Women's Empowerment & Development Association, and a supporter of the Bedford Community Development Association and Citizens for Halifax.
He is a graduate of Dalhousie University and has completed executive and management programs at Queen’s University, York University, and the University of Toronto. Prior to joining novaknowledge, he held executive and senior positions with companies such as AOL / InfoInterActive, National Instruments, and QUICKLAW (Lexis-Nexis).
He is married to Sandra Toze, who teaches for the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University, and they own homes in Bedford and in Malagash. They have two daughters attending Eaglewood Elementary School in Bedford, plus three cats and a dog. Outhit said, “Bedford is a wonderful community; we just need a little innovation and some fresh ideas from a new leader!”
