Outhit to reoffer for council position

Chronicle Herald, September 9, 2008

Coun. Tim Outhit is seeking re-election to regional council in the Oct. 18 municipal election.

He was elected May 3 in a byelection held after Coun. Gary Martin died.

"We have seen tremendous action throughout Bedford over the past four months," he said in a release Monday.

"This is a result of the tremendous co-operation and support that I have received from Bedford residents, Mayor (Peter) Kelly, my council colleagues, the HRM executive team, and numerous HRM staff."

Mr. Outhit says he didn’t step forward last spring because he needed a job or because he wants to be a career politician. "I did it because Bedford needs strong leadership, prompt action, more transparency and better communication."
