Dear Bedford Friends, Neighbours,
& Colleagues:

Thank you very much for your support on May 3! It's a truly humbling experience when so many people express faith in you; both Sandra and I have been very moved by the many calls and notes we've received since Saturday night. (For those who are wondering, my official swearing-in ceremony takes place on May 13. )

Councillor Support -- the department at City Hall that helps Councillors connect with their communities -- is in the process of arranging my HRM email address and cell phone number. Once those new contacts are functioning, I'll post them here; in the meantime, please call me at home at 832-5100 with any ideas, questions or concerns.

On a personal note, I'd like to congratulate Matthew Christie and his team for running a strong and professional campaign. I've asked Matt to advise me on Bedford's waterfront and marina needs; I have tremendous respect for the Christie family and their involvement in Bedford, and I will continue to support projects they have championed.

I have had conversations with many HRM Councillors and have been overwhelmed by their support and their offers to work collaboratively for the betterment of Bedford and HRM. I am in the process of establishing an advisory and transition team on issues such as tax reform, policing, and recreation facilities. I have already had some phone briefings with HRM and the Rocky Lake Development Association on the new rink and other recreational facilities. Action must be taken immediately by either HRM or the private sector in order for these facilities to be ready for next fall.

Once again, thank you for your support. It's a great honour to represent you on HRM council, and I look forward to working for you and with you.

Sincerely,

Tim

TIMe FOR LEADERSHIP & ACTION!
